There are tons of theories, books and insight about what motivation is and where does it come from, however when it comes to every day life  it’s not so often when we think/analyze over the reasons of why suddenly something that has been so appealing, so interesting to us suddenly looses its attractiveness.

In fact, the same happens with motivation – once we get excited about something we do not think much why, what exactly motivates us to do certain things.

My small personal insight today is that if we do not track our motivation/demotivation causes then we probably do not monitor our motivation level throughout the process as we are not much aware of what should we monitor. In its turn, if we do not monitor it – we can not act fast to change the situation in case we need, this is why when demotivation comes and we suddenly feel no energy for doing something we were so keen to do we get so surprised.

To support this idea I made a small exercise thinking why do people choose to be involved in any kind of work and got a small model for myself.




So, here it is – people choose to be involved in a certain process based on these criteria and if at least they sense  2 – 3 elements are available , then it seems attractive/worthy to be involved.

However, your life context usually makes availability of certain element the most important decision making factor – and even sometimes even if all of other elements are missing still there is enough energy to do the job just because the priority element is present and vice versa, even if all the elements are in place while the most needed one is absent your motivation and therefore involvement level drastically goes down.

I am curious to know – what is your current driver of motivation?

Today we would like to share about another milestone we have reached ; we have officially launched our “Growth Center” Program and we really enjoyed it.

The itneresting thing about this ” first time”  was  the lightness and the positive vibes that we’ve got and it totally took us by suprise as we somehow didn’t expect it in the setting of assessment.

Today I was watching  Zemfira’s live concert and later on reading her interview where she speaks about the public and the live concert and the difference of  atmosphere on the concerts with the same repertoire. That  idea really connects and resonates  with  what we felt at the end of the day.

Professionalism, preparations, thoughtfulness, punctuality – all that matters when you are doing a ‘”stage performance” ( no matter in which area).  What matters even more – is how much heart you put in your work.

But sometimes things just click because of the coincidental (?)  meeting of  the right set of people who were prescribed  meet each other one day to  transform and to complement each other .

First ‘ Growth Center” left the feeling of Warmth.


what if we were less fear-driven?

How do we get to the point of having a society of  uncofident, people with low-self-esteem, “i can’t do it  and who am I to succeed “attitude? Where are the root  of the problem hidden?

We are used to be ” assessed and compared” and then ” compared and assessed” and then it goes like a ritual druing the whole life. ( from birth: comapring weight of baby with the standarts, comparing who can read/write at the age of 5 and who can not, school entry exam, tests, tests, exams, tests,  University exams ( OMG), inteview – IQ test, assessments, auditions, certifications….)

What is the price we pay for adopting this policy?

“Can you please assess me? Can you please tell me how good am I doing? Can you please tell me where do I stand in comparison to others?  Am I smart enough? How smart am I?  Who is smarter than me? What is your opinion about me?”

How many kids at the age of 10-11 ( !!!) are asking those questions to themselves and their “authorities” like parents, teachers, mentors etc… How many of them are being diminished by others and then getting used to that feeling so much that they continue diminshing themselves by habit and playing small just cause they were convinced they ARE small?

What kind of individuals we as a society inherit then?  If we were a big coporation we could have had a mission  like ” We sustainably enable the specific lfe journeys full of judgement so that we produce and deliver high numbers  of clients for psycologist and life coaches. Individual by individual, generation by generation – we guarantee…. ”

I have a question… ( not a dream, gentlemen, I can’t have a dream as accordint to  hgh-class experts dreaming is something infantile, loosers have a dream, winners  have a goal).  And because I dont want to have a goal ( I am somehow sick and tired of having SMART goals), I am at least not deprvied of having questions.

So my questions are:

-Who could we become if the school teachers would be taught first how to give  students wings to fly, how to appreciate oneself, how to find oneself beautiful?

-What if schools had  “no judgement” policy?

-How would  the school Wall of Honours look like then ? (may be we could have the picture of every kid on the wall with the title” we are honoured and humble you choose us to serve you? “)

– What kind of individuals would ran our world then?

Who could we become if we  liberate oursleves, our kids, our parents, our employees, our teachers from that genetic flaw of judgement?

Somehow it turned out there is a tradition of closing a year with a report ( personal, professional etc). I noticed people feel accountable to the Universe and they make a lot of yearly reviews, summaries, statements, reports and even more pledges for an upcoming year. 

We, as individuals and as an organization also have a lot of things to remember and to feel thankful for but for now just wanted to share  the great conclusion/key learning of the year:

“Say the good words you want to say on time wthout expecting for an answer…”  

So many times we want to say things we really feel about people whom we don’t know so well or may be, we don’t know how will they react or after saying it finally, we are awaiting for their reply and when they do not react, we feel somehow cheated or ignored… 

And this creates the discomfortable feeling of being vulnerable and rejected. and then we just gradually quit saying good things to people whenever we feel it… most of the time, when the right time has gone we regret about that… 

I realized we got it wrong, we look for satisfaction in answer rather in saying itself and I thought thats a good example of everything we do – we too much look for satisfaction in the result or feed-back rather in process itself. 

Adn if we could learn this, how enjjoyable life would be with every word, with every warmth? …

Do you love life as much as it worth it?


What could we have achieved if we were not afraid? How many times in life we stepped back or just let go things we really wanted just because of the fear .. Sometimes  fear is really vital for us, its the basic instinct that comes from experience and intuition… but what if we dechifer our experience in a wrong way and generate wrong ” set of fears”? What if our exepriences many times giving us homework which we fail to understand and learn lessons from?

what makes a great learning environment?

We’ve been at TEDxYerevan today  and while listening to the great speakers I had a side thought about what makes this place and environment special in terms of learning?

And then my thought went broader and more and more questions started to whirl around:  what makes a great learning environment? when people learn best? when and where do they study best?  what makes them share more ideas in a more generous way? what makes the best environment for idea generation?

I have tried to recall all the places and meetings where my own ” learning cakra” was open and strangely I could recall 2 controversial types of places that helped me learn.

So the first type of place is a space with lots of DIFFERENT PEOPLE who are buzzing around with their ideas, with a SPACE that you can make it our own in a creative way ( visuals, colors), with a TECHNOLOGY or INFRASTRUCTURE and TOOLS that help you think in a different way or out-of -the -box, with beautiful NATURE around and HOSTS. In this kind of a place, if the hosts and audience co-create atmosphere of trust and sharing and vulnerability in a good sense, then you simply have self-driven beautiful community of people learning at the speed of light. If you add to this diversity and encouragement ( like at TED, when speakers make their points and audience go clapping or feel connected and you hear things like ” exactly”, ” you read my mind”, ” wow”.. )  + admission for the mistakes or ” stupid questions without any judgment” – then you just have it, the perfect place for all of the things to happen.

But then, there is the  other space that I could think of that creates that wonderful amazing learning experience and that place is ….toilet room.

I mean, I know it sounds weird but I am sure I am not alone in ” going to toilet” for reading, studying and idea generation. Now, toilet doesn’t have all of that magical moments and infrastructure and technology and facilitators but still, that’s a magical place for ideas to come.

So what makes toilet so insightful?  I thought may be  Its because it’s the place where you can be yourself and that what makes it so similar to the 1st type of a place no matter the absence of helping tools. May be it’s because the shame feeling goes down? after all, it’s a closed space, with a lot of privacy where you can be totally naked literally and therefore metaphorically as well? may be it’s also because the output that we suppose to produce in toilet is never being judged?

If my hypothesis is correct then what could have we become if we remove shame as a blocking unnecessary item from our lives and lives of our circle of influence?

Just a thought…

This is exactly what we are doing for the first time… we have started our first company…It feels amazing; a mixture of sensitivity, joy, a bit of fear, butterflies in our stomacsh… a lot of people would confirm that starting your first company is like giving birth to your first child…It feels like its a magic and it really feels warm. It feels home…. on this first day of our first ever joint blog we just want to say we are grateful for this amazing place where life brought us.
